‘માયા... મા...’ રથના પૈડાં નીચે કચડાયેલાં દૈત્યએ હાંફતા હાંફતા પોતાની બહેન અને માતાને સંબોધન કર્યુ. માયાએ કહેલી વાત સમજવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરે એ પહેલાં જ એમનાથી પાંચ કદમ દૂર પડેલાં એક ભાંગેલા-તૂટેલાં રથના પૈડાં નીચેથી આદ્ર સ્વર સંભળાયો. દિતિ અને માયાએ દોડીને તેના દેહ પરથી રથનો ભાર હટાવવા માટેના પ્રયાસ શરૂ કરી દીધાં. ‘નહીં મા.. શાંત થાઓ!’ દિતિપુત્રને પોતાની અંતિમ પળોનો આભાસ થઈ ગયો હતો. આમ છતાં દિતિ અટકવાનું નામ નહોતી લઈ રહી. તેણે પુત્રનો હાથ ખેંચીને તેને રથ નીચેથી બહાર કાઢવા માટે શક્ય એટલું બળ લગાવ્યું. ‘આહ...’ પીઠ પરથી ઊખડી ગયેલી ચામડી સાથે ચોંટી ગયેલા રથના પૈડાંને ખસેડવાની કોશિશ કરતાં જ દિતિપુત્ર ચિત્કારી ઉઠ્યો. તેની ચીસ દિતિના કાનમાં ધગધગતા સીસુની માફક રેડાઈ. ‘પુત્ર...’ દિતિએ પોતાના નવયુવાન દીકરાનું માથું ખોળામાં લઈને તેના કપાળ પર એક ચૂમી ભરી. ‘ઇન્દ્રએ એના કર્મનું ફળ ભોગવવું પડશે. હું આ સમષ્ટિને એક એવા વિષચક્રમાં બાંધી લઈશ, જેમાંથી બહાર નીકળવા માટે દેવવંશ પણ સક્ષમ નહીં હોય.’ દિતિના મુખમાંથી ક્રોધાગ્નિ સ્વરૂપ શબ્દો નીકળ્યા. રડીને સોજી ગયેલી તેની આંખોમાંથી તીખારા વરસી રહ્યા હતાં. બ્રહ્માંડનો સર્વનાશ કરી શકવા માટે સક્ષમ દિતિ કોઈપણ ભોગે દેવવંશ સામે પોતાનો પ્રતિશોધ લેવા માટે આતુર બની હતી. ‘દૈત્યજનની... વધુ એક અનર્થ ન થાય એ માટે પહેલાં મારી અરજ સાંભળો.’ દિતિની આંખોમાં ફરી વખત વહાલ ઉભરાઈ આવ્યું. ‘દાનવવંશ હંમેશાથી પોતાના કાર્યને લીધે દેવતાઓની સરખામણીમાં મુઠ્ઠી ઊંચેરો સાબિત થયો છે. જીવનભર આદરેલાં અમારા આ સદ્કાર્યને શું આપ વિફળ થતું જોવા ઇચ્છો છો? દાનવોને મહાન બનાવનારું પરિબળ એનું કર્મ છે.’ દિતિપુત્રના શ્વાસ ધીમા પડી રહ્યા હતાં. ‘માનવજાત અમારી તરફ નફરતભાવથી જુએ એ આપને મંજૂર છે? ઇન્દ્ર આ જ તો ઇચ્છે છે, મા! તેની મલિન મહત્વાકાંક્ષાઓની ખેવના છે કે માનવજાત દાનવવંશને અનંતકાળ સુધી દૂષિત અને ધૃણાભરી નજરોથી જુએ. આપનો શાપ એની આ મહેચ્છાના યજ્ઞમાં ઘી હોમવાનું કામ કરશે. દાનવવંશના ઉદ્ધાર માટે મને નહીં, પરંતુ સમગ્ર દાનવાધિપત્યને કાળરથના પૈડાં નીચે કચડાતું બચાવો, મા... આ કાર્ય ફક્ત આપનાથી જ થઈ શકે એમ છે.’ આટલું બોલતાંની સાથે જ તેણે પોતાના પ્રાણ ત્યજી દીધા. પોતાના શિકારની શોધ પૂર્ણ થઈ હોય એમ આકાશમાં ચકરાવો લેતાં ગીધે ઝપટ મારીને દિતિપુત્રના ગળા પરના માંસને પોતાની તીણી ચાંચથી કાપી લીધું. એક તરફ માંસનો ટુકડો મોંમાં રાખીને તે પોતાના ગંતવ્ય સ્થાન તરફ ઉડ્યું અને બીજી બાજુ ગળાની ધોરી નસમાંથી પસાર થતાં વેગીલા રક્તનો છંટકાવ દિતિના ચહેરા પર થયો. વિવેચક અને વાચકમિત્ર દ્વારા તૈયાર થયેલો એક અદ્ભુત વીડિયો... ❤️ ગુજરાતી બૂક-રિવ્યુઅર્સની એક આખી નવી પેઢી હવે ઇન્સ્ટાગ્રામ, યુટ્યુબ અને ફેસબૂક સહિતના અન્ય સોશિયલ મીડિયા માધ્યમોમાં પોતાનું કૌવત પીરસી રહી છે. મારા ઇન્સ્ટાગ્રામ પર ‘ગુજ્જુ બૂક રિવ્યુઝ’, ‘ગુજ્જુ ગૂડ-બૂક્સ’, ‘બૉય રીડિંગ ઇન ધ કૉર્નર’ સહિત ઘણાં સમૃદ્ધ વાચકો છે, જે સારા સારા ગુજરાતી પુસ્તકોને રિવ્યુ કરવા ઉપરાંત ગુજરાતી કમ્યુનિટીમાં જે-તે પુસ્તક વધુમાં વધુ પહોંચે એ માટે મહેનત કરે છે. અંગ્રેજી ભાષામાં તો ‘સૌમ્યાસ બૂક સ્ટેશન’, ‘બૂક જંક્શન’, ‘બૂક્સ-અમેઝ’, ‘હેલી’, ‘ઇન્ડિયન બૂક-ટ્યુબર’ જેવી યુટ્યુબ ચેનલ્સ વર્ષોથી ફક્ત પુસ્તકોના રિવ્યુ માટે જ સમર્પિત છે. પાછલા સાત-આઠ વર્ષોમાં મારી અંગત લાઇબ્રેરીનું કલેક્શન પણ આ અંગ્રેજી ચેનલ્સ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલા રિકમેન્ડેશનનું પરિણામ છે, એમ કહું તો ખોટું નથી. આનંદ એ વાતનો છે કે હવે એટલી જ શિદ્દત અને ખંતપૂર્વક ગુજરાતી બૂક-રિવ્યુઅર્સ આપણી ભાષાના પુસ્તકો રાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તર પર પહોંચાડી રહ્યા છે. ઇન્સ્ટાગ્રામ પરનું આવું જ એક અકાઉન્ટ એટલે ‘બૂકલેન્ડ’! અને હેન્ડલરનું નામ: ભૂમિકા ચોટલિયા. ગુજરાતી, અંગ્રેજી અને હિન્દી એમ ત્રણેય ભાષાના પુસ્તકોનો રિવ્યુ કરે. ફિક્શન અને નૉન-ફિક્શન બંનેની અઠંગ વાચક. લેખક હોવા છતાંય ઘણી વખત મને એની વાચનની ઝડપ માટે મીઠી ઇર્ષા જન્મે એટલું પ્રચૂર વાચન. ભૂમિકાના ફૉલોઅર્સ પણ પાછા આખા ભારતના વાચકો! એટલે સ્વાભાવિક રીતે ગુજરાતી ભાષાના પુસ્તકની શાખ અન્ય વાચકો સુધી પહોંચે ત્યારે બમણી ખુશી થાય. ભૂમિકાએ થોડા મહિના પહેલાં ‘મૃત્યુંજય’ વાંચીને તેનો રિવ્યુ કરેલો. શાબ્દિક વિવેચન ઉપરાંત કલાકોની મહેનત બાદ આ વીડિયો પણ તૈયાર કર્યો. ટાઇમ-લેપ્સ અને એડિટિંગની કળાનો સંગમ સાફ દેખાઈ આવે. શ્રાવણ મહિના માટે આ વીડિયો બચાવીને રાખેલો. કૈલાશ ખેરનો અવાજ, ભૂમિકાનો શબ્દ-શૃંગાર અને નયનરમ્ય દ્રશ્યોના ત્રિભેટા સમો આ વીડિયો રીલિઝ કરવા માટે પણ એક ખાસ વાર નક્કી કરવો જોઈએ, એવા વિચાર સાથે શ્રાવણ મહિનાનો ત્રીજો સોમવાર આજે ‘બૂક-લેન્ડ’ના આ વીડિયો માટે સમર્પિત છે. ફરી એક વખત... વીડિયો માટે હ્રદયપૂર્વક આભાર, ભૂમિકા. આમ ને આમ તમામ ભાષાના સારા સારા પુસ્તકો તમારા માધ્યમથી અમારા સુધી પહોંચતાં રહે એવી શુભેચ્છાઓ.💐 આ પુસ્તકોને તમે ઑનલાઇન બુક કરાવી શકો છો. એની લિન્ક નીચે આપેલ છે. https://bit.ly/3rUx0v3 #gujarati #novel #authors #modern #mythology #thriller #fiction #readers #history #science #romance #politics #business #world #story #words #NavbharatSahityaMandir #ShopOnline #Books #Reading #LoveForReading
